Mashable also received a tip from a reader who claims his new iPhone 8 Plus split open after just a week of use. We also found another [...]

Trump called on NFL owners to fire players who kneel or otherwise protest during the national anthem and encouraged fans to boycott the league. SEE ALSO: Why Russia hasn't successfully screwed with Germany's election — yet "Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out. He's fired! He's fired!" Trump [...]

Patients to be questioned about sexuality

She said the information would help NHS bodies comply with equality legislation by "consistently collecting, only where relevant, personal details of patients such as race, sex and sexual orientation." 'Intrusive and offensive' NHS England recommends health professionals - such as GPs and nurses - ask about a person's sexual orientation at "every face to face contact with the patient, where no record of this data already exists". But the Family Doctor Association said it was "potentially intrusive and offensive" for GPs to monitor people's sexuality. Chairman Dr Peter Swinyard told the BBC that for older patients in particular, sexuality "doesn't [...]

Finally, an ad for sanitary products that features an actual period.

Sanitary towel and tampon ads don't exactly portray periods in the most realistic way. If it's not strange-looking blue liquid being poured on pads, it's women jumping around splashing each other for reasons that remain unknown to us.  Bodyform's latest ad shows something refreshingly different. An actual period.  The ad opens with red liquid being poured onto a pad. Not a drop of blue dye in sight! It also shows a closeup of a woman's thighs in a shower, with menstrual blood trickling down the inside of her leg—a sight that's familiar to anyone who has periods. The ad is [...]

Speaking after the inquest, Mark Webb from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, said: "This was an incredibly sad incident leading to the unnecessary loss of a very young life. "What we would say is to urge people to stay well away from cliff edges. "The day before this incident we had a very severe rock fall in the same sort of area, so it's clear some of these cliff edges can be very unstable."

Matthew McDermott of Sonoma, California discovered an odd scene while driving in Schellville, California on Monday. A tree had caught fire thanks to the wildfires ripping through the state, and the tree was burning from the inside out.  "That is the craziest fucking thing I've ever seen," McDermott could be heard saying in the clip. "It's hollowed out the tree."  The outside of the tree seems mostly intact, and the fire burning inside can be seen through a series of holes in its trunk. It looks like a portal to hell. The Tubbs fire that caused the tree to ignite [...]

Image copyright Jon Cluett Image caption The bothy, in the distance, is easily accessible by canoe but less so on foot The family weighed up their options for getting back to their car. A three-mile walk with small children across difficult boggy ground or along the nearby railway line were discounted as impractical or too dangerous. "In the end I decided the only option was to phone the police and mountain rescue, ask if they have any local knowledge that could help us out," said Mr Cluett. The police came back with a magical solution. They arranged for the next [...]
