Muji is opening its first hotel in Tokyo and we are so here for it
That’s right Muji fans, its really happening.
Japan’s famous minimalist store Muji, which sells everything from stationery, clothes, to household products, will be opening its first hotel in its home country, and a new global flagship store in Tokyo’s plush Ginza district come 2019.
The store will span more than 3,300 square meters, with the first six floors of the building occupied by the store, while four more floors above will be occupied by the hotel, according to real estate developers Mitsui Fudosan.
Surprisingly, Muji didn’t turn to its home country to set up its first foray into the hotel business. Instead, that’s an upcoming project in Shenzhen, China, set to be completed later this year.
The mini model of a room in Muji’s Shenzhen hotel gives a sneak peek of what its 79 rooms will look like:
Perhaps you’ll be able to recreate a version of your own from the Muji store near you.
